About

Following years of giving endless dinner parties for friends and family, Chef/Owner Rawia Bishara decided it was time to expose her unique culinary style to the world.

In 1998, Rawia's dream became reality, with the opening of Tanoreen Caterers & Restaurant. Although Rawia had no classical training as a chef, the opening of Tanoreen has made her one of the most acclaimed Middle Eastern chefs in the country. When asked, Rawia will tell you that the concept of Tanoreen came about as a tribute to her mother and her rich culinary heritage.

After fusing many of her mother's old world recipes with her own more eclectic style of cooking, Rawia developed a singular menu of unique palates and traditional flavors.

Tanoreen varies in it's fusions, but never deviates from its roots; a harmonious blend of classical Middle Eastern/Mediterranean home-style cooking. Rawia's personal contribution to promoting, and exposing Middle Eastern gastronomic culture is a huge source of pride for her. Typically, Middle Eastern cuisine is relegated to dishes of falafel or hummus, but Tanoreen goes above and beyond that, to take Middle Eastern cuisine to its most traditional and innovative forms.

In 2006, Jumana Bishara, Rawia's daughter (you can tell by the eyes!) joined the team as co-owner and general manager.  She brings with her years of experience in business and excitement for the opportunity to be the 3rd generation of Bishara women to expose Middle Eastern culinary style to the world.

Tanoreen is thrilled to announce the opening of it's new space. A veritable Tanoreen 2.0. Our commitment to continued consistency of our food will be enhanced with an extended space, featuring a full bar, a more refined ambience, and separate take-out space.

The Arabic term for 'bon appetite' is SAHA, literally translated: to your health.

Wishing you good health and happy eating,
